  ZYGOMATIC IMPLANT 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

Conventional Dental implant requires certain amount of bone in order to secure the implant. This somehow can be a trouble for people who have lost their teeth for a long time and also suffered from bone loss. These people do not have enough bone in their jaw into which to screw this standard implant. They have to go through bone graft and many painful surgeries which may take months before dental implant  can be placed.  Or they may go for those annoying  removable dentures.

Thanks to Professor Per Ingvar Brånemark that developed zygomatic implant and makes it easier for people with severely resorbed upper jaws. Zygomatic implant is an extended dental implant-up to 55 mm instead of the usual 10mm or 15 mm for normal dental implants. This long implant can be screwed into a very dense zygoma bone(cheekbone) instead of the jaw bone. This zygomatic implant provides an excellent alternative to bone grafting procedures for the severely resorbed jaw bone with minimal surgical trauma and maximum oral function.

The patient will undergo a 3D scan of the jaw that makes it possible to guide the implant into the jaw non-invasively. The procedure is potentially quicker than the three or more appointments it takes to fit a denture, and the implants are as strong as real teeth.
